Why such love for yoga? A lifelong athlete, competitor and lover of fitness, Joanna’s path changed a bit when she discovered the magic of yoga in her early 20’s (a million years ago.) Once craving just the physical benefits of a strong workout, Joanna began to crave the way yoga created balance and helped to quiet and calm the mind. There is a magical energy and peace created when moving, breathing, and acting mindfully… and it’s become the most dependable anchor in Joanna’s life. Motherhood, marriage, work….life in general are so much more manageable with a daily practice and a few deep breaths!
Joanna’s intention as a teacher is to create a sense of calm strength and confidence for all students…to combine a sense of playfulness, spirituality, and a dose of inspiration into your day, and most importantly, to have you stepping off your mat feeling stronger, nourished and refreshed. Her classes are designed to create a balance between strength and softness, movement and stillness, with the hopes of using breath to find our way out of our minds and into the present moment.
Joanna has been teaching group fitness classes since 2008. She has completed trainings in mat Pilates, weight lifting, yoga for children with special needs, and her 200 hour yoga teacher training. She considers herself a lifelong student, however, and hopes that her love of learning translates into intelligent, creative, and joyful classes!
