Life has a way of pulling you in many directions at once.

Many people who come to Synergy describe feeling stuck, burnt out, or disconnected from themselves, or others, long before they find the words for what’s happening. Anxiety may be showing up in your body, motivation may be harder to access, or relationships may feel more strained than usual. Grief, trauma, or major life transitions, whether recent or long-standing, may be quietly shaping your days. You’ve likely spent years caring for others or pushing through on your own. Now, you may be wondering what it would feel like to finally receive care in a way that supports your whole self: mind, body, and spirit.

Therapy offers a place to land during these moments; a grounded, compassionate space where your experiences are honored and your well-being truly matters. At Synergy Wellness Center, we meet you wherever you are and walk alongside you as you rediscover balance, resilience, and connection.

Personalized Support for Anxiety, Depression, & Trauma Through EMDR —
Offered In Person or via Telehealth

At Synergy Wellness Center, our therapy team embraces a balanced, whole-person approach to care. We look beyond individual symptoms to understand the experiences, relationships, environments, and internal stories that shape how you feel each day.

Therapy becomes a collaborative process where you and your therapist explore what’s happening beneath the surface and work together toward meaningful, sustainable change.

We support adults, youth, and children in our Hudson and Bolton locations, and we offer secure telehealth sessions to clients across Massachusetts. Many people we work with are navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, difficulties with focus or motivation, relationship strain, grief, life transitions, or trauma that may be recent or woven into their past.

What is Therapy?

Individual therapy offers dedicated one-on-one time with a therapist who is fully present with you. They listen without judgment and help you make sense of the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that shape your daily life. Your therapist walks alongside you as you deepen your understanding of yourself.

They gently help you notice patterns, explore the roots of your struggles, and create space for healing and growth. Individual therapy is not about “fixing” you. Instead, it invites you to reconnect with your strengths, discover new perspectives, and build tools that support your overall well-being.

  • Sadness or emotional heaviness that lingers

How Therapy Supports Your Healing

Therapy at Synergy is shaped around the understanding that each person’s story is unique. Your therapist takes time to learn what you’ve been carrying, what you hope for, and what you need in order to feel more grounded and supported.
Together, you create a plan that feels thoughtful, personalized, and responsive to your lived experience.

Our clinicians use a variety of approaches to support you in navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD-related challenges, grief, relationship concerns, or major life transitions. These may include evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and EMDR.

We also incorporate mindfulness-based practices, narrative and expressive therapies, emotion-focused work, and other trauma-informed or holistic modalities.

The Synergy Wellness Center Approach

What sets Synergy apart is how we prioritize your emotional well-being. We consider it within the larger context of your body, relationships, environment, and the pace of your daily life. Our intake team knows each clinician’s style, strengths, and areas of specialty, allowing us to connect you with someone who truly aligns with your needs and goals.

Your therapy can also be supported by Synergy’s integrative wellness services, such as yoga, acupuncture, massage and bodywork, lifestyle medicine, and health coaching. These options are available if and when they feel helpful to you.

At Synergy, therapy is meant to feel steady, grounding, and spacious; a place where you are met as a whole person, not as a collection of symptoms or challenges.

Your Questions About Therapy

Here are some commonly asked questions about therapy at Synergy Wellness Center.

How Do I Schedule My First Therapy Appointment?

You’ll begin by completing our New Client Inquiry, which gives us a sense of what you’ve been experiencing. This helps us understand what you’re hoping to work on and the kind of support that feels most comfortable to you.

Once we receive your Inquiry, our intake team reviews it with care. A member of our team will then reach out to you directly, usually within a short period, to discuss the next steps. They will be happy to answer any questions and help you schedule your first appointment. We want your first step into therapy to feel thoughtful, supported, and unrushed.

Do You Accept Insurance for Mental Health Therapy?

Yes, we accept most major commercial insurance plans. Our administrative team is here to support you in verifying your benefits and helping you understand what to expect financially. They can also offer guidance on questions you may want to ask your insurance provider.

At this time, we do not accept Medicare, Medicaid, or MassHealth. However, we can offer receipts (superbills) for out-of-network reimbursement when applicable. Our goal is to help you feel informed and grounded before you begin, so finances don’t become an added source of worry.

What Can I Expect in My First Sessions?

Your first couple of sessions are about connection and understanding. Your therapist will begin by inviting you to talk about what has brought you to therapy. This is a time to explore the challenges you’ve been navigating and the experiences, past or present, that feel important to acknowledge.

Many people arrive with a general feeling (overwhelm, heaviness, confusion, burnout) rather than a clear goal, and that’s completely okay. Together, you and your therapist begin shaping a plan that reflects your values, pace, and needs. This plan may include approaches drawn from modalities such as CBT, DBT, IFS, EMDR, mindfulness, or expressive therapies, depending on what aligns with your goals.

How Do You Match Clients With the Right Therapist?

We take therapist matching seriously because the relationship between you and your therapist is one of the most important parts of the healing process. Our intake team carefully reviews your inquiry and considers your responses. Because our intake coordinators know each therapist closely (their strengths, specialties, lived experience, clinical style, and the populations they support), they are able to make a thoughtful, personalized match. If at any point you feel like another therapist may be a better fit, we honor that. We’re here to support you in finding the person who helps therapy feel safe and meaningful.

Is Therapy Confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a core part of the therapeutic relationship. Everything you share in therapy remains private, held within the secure boundaries of ethical and legal guidelines. This allows you to speak openly without fear of judgment or disclosure.

The only times confidentiality can be broken are in rare situations where someone’s immediate safety is at risk or when the law requires it. Your therapist will explain these limits clearly so you feel informed, but beyond those circumstances, your story stays with us. You deserve a space where your experiences are respected and protected.

Do You Offer In-Person and Telehealth Appointments?

Yes. In-person therapy is available at our Hudson and Bolton offices, both designed to feel calming and grounding. We also offer secure telehealth sessions for anyone living in Massachusetts who prefers the privacy or convenience of meeting from home.

Many people appreciate the flexibility to choose what feels right week-to-week. Some find that in-person sessions help them settle into a more mindful or embodied experience, while others appreciate the ease of integrating telehealth into a busy day. Both formats offer the same level of presence, care, and therapeutic engagement. You’re welcome to use one or the other, or move between both as your needs shift.

How Long Does Each Therapy Session Last?

Most individual sessions last about 55 minutes. Your therapist will work with you to determine a rhythm that feels grounding and sustainable. This could mean meeting weekly, biweekly, or adjusting as life changes. The focus is always on creating a supportive cadence that fits your needs, energy, and goals.

How Many Therapy Sessions Will I Need?

The number of sessions varies widely from person to person. Some individuals come with a specific concern and find what they need in a shorter period of time. Others choose to remain in therapy longer because they discover how supportive it feels to have a consistent space to reflect, heal, and grow.

Your therapist will collaborate with you to check in about your progress, revisit your goals, and adjust your treatment plan as needed. There’s no pressure to follow a specific timeline; healing unfolds differently for everyone. We respect the pace that feels right for you.

Can I Request a Specific Therapist?

Yes. If someone on our team resonates with you based on their bio, specialty area, or therapeutic approach, you’re welcome to request them when completing the New Client Questionnaire or speaking with our intake team. If your needs align with their availability and expertise, we’re happy to make that connection.

We want you to feel grounded and comfortable with your therapist, and we honor your preferences whenever possible.
